The beginning

Made for easy days.

Three brothers who grew up in Waihi Beach bought this place in 2019 and recently renovated it as the kind of bach they knew growing up: easy, practical and made for everyone to arrive with more gear than planned. The beach is a six-minute walk away; the village takes five.

The main house

Inside, then out.

The main house has one super-king bedroom, one king bedroom and one single, gathered around an open-plan kitchen, dining room and fireside lounge. Double doors open to decks on both sides, following the morning sun at the front and the evening light across the backyard.

The sleepout

A room of their own.

The separate sleepout adds a queen bedroom, kitchenette and private shower room, giving a couple, grandparents or teenagers their own space. Outside, the private lawn has room for the boat, a tent and long summer dinners beneath the lemon and grapefruit trees.

The neighbourhood

Between the hills and the water.

Waihi Beach runs for nine kilometres along the Bay of Plenty coast with the Kaimai Range rising behind it. From Citrus Avenue, the sand is a six-minute walk and the village takes five; the local pub is about seven minutes away on foot.

Stay close for a morning swim and coffee, or head north for the Orokawa Bay track and south toward the calmer harbour water at Anzac Bay. Come home for the evening sun across the backyard and fruit from the lemon and grapefruit trees when it is in season.
